Rooted in This Community

Pleasant Grove Baptist Church has been a part of this corner of Mississippi for generations. We sit on the line between Jones and Wayne County — and our congregation reflects that same mix of neighbors, families, and working people who call this area home.

We are a member church of the Southern Baptist Convention, shaped by a deep commitment to biblical authority and the Great Commission. That means everything we do — Sunday morning worship, Wednesday night fellowship, local outreach, and international missions — flows from the same source: a belief that God's Word is true, that Jesus saves, and that the Church has a job to do.

Whether you've worshipped with us for decades or you're just checking us out for the first time, you'll find the same thing here: an open Bible, a warm welcome, and a seat at the table.

What We Believe

Our faith is built on Scripture — the inspired, inerrant Word of God. These are the core convictions that shape everything we do.

The Bible

We believe the Bible is the inspired, inerrant Word of God — the supreme authority in all matters of faith and practice. Every message, every ministry, and every decision at Pleasant Grove is tested against Scripture.

Salvation by Grace

We believe that salvation comes by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. Every person is a sinner in need of a Savior — and Jesus is that Savior. There is no other way.

Baptism & the Lord's Supper

We practice believer's baptism by immersion as a public declaration of faith. The Lord's Supper is observed as a regular ordinance of the church, remembering Christ's sacrifice and proclaiming His return.

The Church

The local church is God's plan for discipleship, worship, and mission. We believe every believer is called to be part of a local body — not just attending, but belonging, serving, and growing.

The Great Commission

Jesus commanded us to go and make disciples of all nations. That mandate isn't optional — it's the mission. At PGBC, we take it seriously both locally and around the world.

The Return of Christ

We believe in the personal, bodily return of Jesus Christ. This hope shapes how we live, how we serve, and how urgently we pursue the mission God has given us.

As a Southern Baptist church, we affirm the Baptist Faith & Message 2000 as our doctrinal standard.
